Thai Visa Forum

ThaiVisa is the largest of the general Thailand forums, both in terms of total members and daily users. Pro-rata it is smaller than most of the large Pattaya Forums who have a far higher city concentric membership.

I am sure it began with the very best of intentions but is now a total mess in the sense that unless you know the site it is all but impossible to navigate.

If you are looking for Visa information the website (as opposed to the forum) has a lot of information but a large amount of that is now hopelessly out of date. This could do people more harm than good if they act upon incorrect information. The navigation difficulties make it virtually impossible to ensure you are reading the most current information.

It has also become a total slave to advertising with good free content now difficult to find. I have no idea how advertisers believe they are getting value for money as advertising costs are very overpriced and all advertisers tend to be sharing space with about 20 other advertisers at the same time.

Lastly, but by no means least, it can often be a downright unpleasant place to be as newbies to Thailand on the forum are often treated with disdain by a few of the longer standing members.

All in all Thaivisa.com is a good example of why biggest is rarely best and one to avoid.
